Part 1: Reading 1

The key difference between structured content and semantic HTML is that structured content is a broader term for content on a webpage that can be interpreted easily both by a person, and a machine. Semantic HTML is the syntax of HTML, the written tags and content allow a webpage to form. They work together in the sense that semantic HTML can be a form of structured content if used correctly. Semantic HTML can be structured content, but strcutured content does not need to be semantic HTML. It is important to have both elements in a webpage, since HTML is the language of webpages, so it must be properly structured in a way that is readable to both a machine and a person.

Denise Jacobs offers a lot of good strategies for dealing with our inner critics. One of the most effective ways I have worked with my inner critic is by seeking the truth behind what I am telling myself. I will look into what people have said about my art, and look into what they truly want to see improved, not just the ways they suggest improvement. I also take a setp back and look at the prgoress of my creative project relative to what my inner critic wants to do with it. This will usually help me keep a project from moving too fast, as well as helping me find good improvements that do not compromise my vision.

David McRaney proposes that hyperbolic discounting is procrastination, and that procrastination is an impulse. The way to counter that impulse is to think about one's thinking. Reasoning with yourself is the best way to work past an initial impulse, and eventually move forward with the work you desire to do.
